Can you press flower in a 37 micron rosin filter bag?

Yes, you can press flower in a 37-micron rosin filter bag, but it’s generally not ideal for most flower—it’s better suited for hash or dry sift.

However, if you're aiming for ultra-clean rosin and are willing to sacrifice some yield, it can work under the right conditions.

Here’s what you need to know:

Will a 37-Micron Bag Work for Flower?

Yes, but it’s not ideal for most flower.

A 37-micron rosin filter bag is designed for hash, kief, or bubble hash, where extremely fine filtration is needed.

For flower, it can work, but you’ll likely lose yield and risk blowouts unless you have premium, resin-dense bud and perfect pressing conditions.

When Should You Use a 37-Micron Bag for Flower?

A 37-micron rosin bag can work for flower, but it’s specialized—best reserved for specific scenarios where purity trumps yield.

Here’s exactly when (and when not) to use one:

✅ Best Cases for Using 37μ on Flower

1. Ultra-Premium, Resin-Dense Flower

  • Strains: GMO, Wedding Cake, Ice Cream Cake, or other high-THC, greasy cultivars.

  • Freshness: Buds should be sticky, properly cured (62% RH), and trichome-rich.

  • Why? The extra resin flow can compensate for the tight filtration.

2. Low-Temp "Quality-Over-Yield" Presses

  • Temp Range: 160-180°F (lower heat = less waxes, better flavor).

  • Goal: If you want smooth, light-colored rosin and don’t mind losing 10-20% yield.

3. Small-Scale Personal Presses

  • Ideal for connoisseurs pressing a few grams at a time (not bulk).

  • Works well with bottle tech packing to maximize efficiency.

❌ When to Avoid 37μ for Flower

1. Dry, Old, or Low-Quality Flower

  • Result: Paltry yields, clogged bags, wasted material.

  • Fix: Use 90-120μ instead, or rehydrate buds to 62% RH.

2. High-Yield Pressing

  • 37μ traps more oil—expect less return than 90μ+ bags.

  • For bulk: Stick to 90-160μ for better flow.

3. High-Temp or High-Pressure Presses

  • Risk: Blowouts (37μ is fragile under extreme pressure).

  • Fix: If pressing hot (>190°F), use a double bag (37μ inside 90μ).
